History
of A Pickled Heron Gallery
The
building that holds this unique space was built in 1922
by the Nazarene Church. It was sold to the Pekin Ferry
Grange in the '70's, and my husband and I purchased
it in 2002.
Visiting
Ridgefield is kind of like going back in time to "Mayberry"
and walking down the streets with Opie and his Pa. The
people are friendly, the town is charming, and it's
a great place to spend the day escaping the big city
hassles. I grew up in Ridgefield, so I was very excited
to reinvest in the future of this sleepy little town
I call home.
We
have refurbished the wonderful old sanctuary. As I cleaned
and painted, I had fun discovering the space I could
create. Downstairs, I have added an art supply store
and custom framing shop, and have created a room for
all sorts of classes. The gallery/ballroom is upstairs,
and boasts a warm ambiance. It features beautiful wood
floors, a stage, a dutch vaulted ceiling, and awesome
chandeliers.
So,
step back in time and spend a day with us in Ridgefield
- Lewis and Clark did twice!
